Schaeffler Receives the Red Dot Design Award for Its Innovative GraviKart Transport Concept

Schaeffler has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in the “Design Concept 2025” category for its innovative driverless transport system, GraviKart. This advanced robotic cart has been designed to enhance collaboration in logistics and manufacturing environments, becoming a crucial tool in production plant management.

GraviKart stands out for its compact and modular design. Equipped with integrated cameras, the system navigates autonomously and can detect obstacles, thus facilitating the movement of heavy loads in confined spaces. Thanks to artificial intelligence, GraviKart not only understands human gestures but also communicates through visual signals with LED lights, ensuring safe and collaborative interaction with workers.

Han Boon Siew, Senior Director of the Hub for Advanced Research and Manager of the Humanoids Subcluster at Schaeffler, expressed pride in the recognition. He mentioned that this award highlights his team’s dedication to developing smart solutions that will shape the future of production. Furthermore, he emphasized that autonomous transport systems are essential for the industry of tomorrow, showcasing Schaeffler’s expertise in robotics as a solid foundation for growth in the humanoid robotics sector.

The development of GraviKart is part of Schaeffler’s Hub for Advanced Research (SHARE) program, which promotes collaboration with universities worldwide through a “company on campus” approach.
