Schneider Electric has been officially named the “Most Sustainable Company in the World 2025” by TIME Magazine and Statista, a recognition the company has achieved for the second consecutive year, solidifying its place on the list of the 500 most sustainable companies globally. This honor underscores Schneider’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and its goal of helping its customers improve energy efficiency while working towards emission reductions.
The French company has set ambitious goals on its path to sustainability, particularly the intention to reduce carbon emissions across its value chain by 25% by 2030, along with aiming for net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050. To achieve these targets, Schneider Electric has implemented the “Schneider Sustainability Impact 2021–2025” program, which has been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This program guides the company’s sustainable transformation, not only internally but also in collaboration with partners and local communities.
Olivier Blum, CEO of Schneider Electric, expressed gratitude for this distinction, emphasizing that sustainability is a fundamental pillar of the company. “We aspire to be an Impact Company, where performance is the foundation. Our purpose drives us to mobilize our entire ecosystem,” he stated, highlighting Schneider’s holistic approach to addressing environmental challenges.
The ranking evaluated 5,700 companies using 20 key performance indicators, prioritizing criteria such as scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption relative to company size, and the use of renewable energy in operations. Sustainability ratings and commitments, as well as corporate reporting practices and other environmental and social performance indicators, were also considered.
In addition to this recent recognition, Schneider Electric has been acclaimed by Corporate Knights as the “Most Sustainable Company in the World 2025,” being the only company to have topped the Global 100 ranking twice. It has also been recognized as the most sustainable company in Europe and France, further solidifying its position as a leader in sustainability in the business sector.
