The industrialized construction appears as the future of the building sector in Spain. Sika, a prominent company in solutions for construction and industry, has launched an ambitious campaign called “The Industrialized Revolution” with the aim of promoting more efficient and sustainable methods. Sika’s goal is for 10% of the buildings constructed in the country to use industrialized systems by the year 2030.
Although currently only 2% of buildings are constructed using this approach, it is estimated that industrialized construction will experience a 200% growth by 2024. This forecast, according to the Building Trends Radar, points to a significant shift towards more automated and optimized construction.
With over 40 years of experience in industrial production, Sika plans to transfer its knowledge acquired in sectors such as automotive and railway to the construction industry. The company operates 18 technological centers globally, enabling it to promote innovation in this sector and adapt to the specific needs of the Spanish market. Vanesa Álvarez, KAM of Modular Building at Sika, highlights that the company has great technical knowledge and positions itself as a key partner in industrialization.
During the Rebuild 2025 fair, Sika U revealed its plans to lead the country’s industrialization, presenting a diverse portfolio of solutions tailored to the sector’s demands. Gonzalo Causin, general manager of Sika in Spain, emphasized that “innovation is in Sika’s DNA”, emphasizing the development of solutions that improve processes in the factory and assembly on the construction site.
Among the innovations that Sika has presented are bonding technologies that increase safety and flexibility in design, as well as sound insulation systems that reduce vibrations. They also provide products aimed at protecting structures from adverse weather conditions and pollutants, ensuring their durability.
