In August, the price of vacation rentals in Spain varies considerably depending on the region. Extremadura stands out as the most economical option with an average cost of 110 euros per night. It is followed by the Canary Islands and Castilla y León with prices of 121 and 122 euros, respectively. Other communities offering attractive rates are Castilla-La Mancha and La Rioja, with average prices of 127 and 129 euros.
For those willing to spend a little more, the options expand. Andalucia and the Valencian Community have average prices of 190 and 193 euros, while Catalonia and the Basque Country offer rates of 229 and 226 euros. The Balearic Islands top the list of the most expensive destinations with an impressive average cost of 385 euros per night.
Occupancy rates in vacation rentals also vary significantly. The Valencian Community and Catalonia top the list with an occupancy rate of 91%, followed by the Balearic Islands and Asturias, both at 90%. Andalucia, Cantabria, and Galicia experience an 88% occupancy rate, while Aragon and the Community of Madrid have 86%. The Basque Country reaches 85%, with Navarra, Castilla y León, and the Canary Islands at 83%. Among the most economical islands are La Palma and El Hierro, with rates of 93 and 80 euros per night, respectively. La Gomera, the most affordable, offers prices starting at 80 euros. Lanzarote and Tenerife have average prices of 164 and 122 euros, while Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura are at 117 and 116 euros, respectively.
For those with a higher budget, the Balearic Islands offer options that combine beach and mountain experiences. Mallorca, with an average price of 359 euros per night, and Menorca, with rates of 403 euros, are standout options. Formentera, at 427 euros, and the exclusive Ibiza, with prices reaching up to 627 euros per night, are ideal for those seeking luxury and exclusivity.
