The consumption of prefabricated concrete decreases in four autonomous communities, according to Andece.

The National Association of the Precast Concrete Industry (ANDECE) has published consumption statistics for the first half of 2024, highlighting a general increase of 2.1% compared to the same period last year. However, not all autonomous communities have followed this upward trend.

Specifically, Extremadura has been the region that has experienced the largest drop in the consumption of precast concrete, followed by Aragon and Castilla-La Mancha. Likewise, the Valencian Community has recorded a decrease in consumption in the first six months of 2024 compared to the previous year.

Conversely, Cantabria has stood out for a significant increase in semi-annual consumption, leading the industry’s growth in Spain. Other communities that have experienced positive increases include the Canary Islands, Castilla y León, Navarra, and La Rioja.

On the other hand, regions such as Madrid, the Basque Country, Murcia, and Andalusia have shown double-digit growth, although at a more moderate pace compared to Cantabria and other standout communities.

In response to these changes, ANDECE has announced the celebration of the “ANDECE 2024 Cycle: Design and build with precast concrete”, scheduled for November 26 at its headquarters in Madrid. This event will focus on infrastructure projects, emphasizing the fundamental importance of precast concrete in construction, a sector of great social, economic, and environmental significance.

ANDECE, representing the most innovative companies in the sector, continues to lead the transformation and modernization of the precast concrete industry in Spain. With over 70% of the sector’s business volume, member companies are at the forefront of industrialized construction, thanks to continuous investments in advanced technology and modernization of their facilities.
