The deployment of the new Notepad update for Windows Insiders has begun.

Microsoft has started rolling out new updates for Notepad, its popular text editor, targeted at Windows Insiders users who are part of the Canary and Dev channels of Windows 11. Notepad version 11.2510.6.0 introduces innovative features, including support for tables and an improvement in real-time result presentation for AI-powered text generation features. One of the most notable new features is the option to insert tables in Notepad documents, aimed at making note organization easier and allowing users to create more structured layouts in their writing. This feature is accessible through a new option in the formatting toolbar or through Markdown syntax. Additionally, editing tables has been simplified, allowing users to add or remove rows and columns through a right-click contextual menu. Another significant improvement in this update is the implementation of streaming results for writing functions such as “Write”, “Rewrite”, and “Summarize”. This functionality will enable users to receive results more quickly, appearing as they are generated, increasing interactivity and overall user experience when working with text. It is worth noting that at the moment, streaming support for the “Rewrite” function is limited to results generated on Copilot+ devices. To take advantage of these new features, users will need to sign in with their Microsoft account. Additionally, the company encourages users to provide feedback on the updates through the Feedback Hub, emphasizing its commitment to listening to the community. With these additions, Microsoft reinforces its dedication to improving Notepad and keeping it relevant in an environment where productivity and collaboration are essential.
