The Spanish Association of Manufacturers of Lightweight Facades and Windows (ASEFAVE) has welcomed the recent support from the Ministry of Industry, which adds to the backing it had already received from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda. This institutional support strengthens the position of the II International Congress of Windows, Facades, and Solar Protection, which will take place in Madrid during the month of November. This event, organized by ASEFAVE, is expected to be a significant meeting point for professionals in architecture and construction, with an estimated 600 attendees, doubling the participation of its first edition.
The organization of the congress is progressing successfully and is already in the final phase of selecting the presentations that will be showcased over the two-day event. One of the most prominent presentations will be the opening speech by Jorge Jimeno, head of the Quality and Industrial Safety Subdirectorate of the Ministry of Industry, highlighting the importance of this congress and its alignment with government objectives.
In addition to the increase in the number of participants, the congress has seen a significant growth in the number of presentation proposals received, reaching a total of 60 submissions, representing a 20% increase compared to the previous edition. This growth underscores the growing interest of the sector in discussing fundamental topics such as energy efficiency, innovation, and digitalization.
The congress will take place at the Metropolitano Air Station in Madrid and will be structured in four thematic areas: environmental and climate challenge, new regulations, training, and trends and innovation. These themes will address relevant issues for the sector, including circular economy, sustainability, energy efficiency in buildings, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
ASEFAVE has reiterated its commitment to representing the sector’s interests, emphasizing the need for measures such as tax deductions linked to energy efficiency actions, the effective implementation of aid plans, and the reduction of bureaucratic burdens on sector companies. In addition, the association will seize the congress to intensify its focus on digitalization and innovation, aiming to improve energy efficiency and safety in facades and windows.
Founded in July 1977, ASEFAVE brings together leading manufacturers of windows, facades, and solar protection systems, as well as companies supplying components for their production. The association is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by Miguel Robles, with the collaboration of vice-presidents Carlos Subías and Pablo Rodríguez, along with 12 board members. This body plays an essential role in coordinating the demands and interests of the sector, establishing itself as a recognized voice in the field of construction and architecture in Spain.
