The Santa María College of Madrid Presents Its New Higher Degree in Social Integration: Commitment to Inclusion.

Santa María School in Madrid has launched a new Higher Degree in Social Integration, set to begin in the academic year 2025-2026. This initiative responds to the growing need for professionals in the social field, especially in a country where around 4.5 million people are at risk of social exclusion.

The main objective of the program is to prepare students to promote equal opportunities and facilitate social inclusion, focusing on individuals and groups in vulnerable situations. Graduates will be able to work in various areas, such as social services, special education, community associations, and programs aimed at immigrants and refugees. In this way, they seek to improve the quality of life for those who need it most.

Jesús Mª Arce, the school’s director, highlighted that the creation of this program is based on an educational commitment that goes beyond mere vocational training, aiming to cultivate responsible citizens who are aware of their social environment. Arce emphasized that the combination of technical and human training for students will be essential for contributing to social well-being and cohesion.

The curriculum of the Higher Degree in Social Integration will integrate theory and practice, offering students the opportunity to participate in workshops, case studies, and group dynamics. Additionally, it includes a module for practical training in collaboration with social entities, NGOs, and public administrations, allowing students to gain real experience in the field.

The essential competencies that will be developed include community mediation and planning social interventions. They will also receive training in methodologies and digital tools, aligning with the current demands of the social sector.

Pre-registration for the new program is already open on the school’s website. To facilitate the process, informative sessions have been organized both in-person and online, aimed at guiding prospective students and their families through the registration process.
