The ‘See to Grow’ project will carry out a new on-site action in Pamplona next Thursday, September 26, in collaboration with San Juan de Dios Hospital. This initiative, which involves the participation of volunteer optometrists, will focus on checking the vision of a hundred vulnerable people. The beneficiaries of the screenings have been previously selected by the social workers of San Juan de Dios Hospital.
This is not the first time that ‘See to Grow’ collaborates with San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pamplona. In the past, the initiative has also worked together with Xilema Foundation, Paris 365 Solidarity Dining Room, and Santa Lucía Penitentiary Center in the capital of Navarre. In fact, after the planned action at the hospital, another screening will be carried out at Santa Lucía Penitentiary Center.
The ‘See to Grow’ project aims to check the vision of people in vulnerable situations and provide them with new, custom-made glasses for free if they need them and cannot afford them due to their economic situation. This initiative has the support of professionals from social services of various NGOs and foundations.
To date, ‘See to Grow’ has checked the vision of nearly 4,000 people throughout Spain. Among the organizations it has collaborated with are Aldeas Infantiles SOS (Barcelona and Granada), Tomillo Foundation (Vallecas, Orcasitas, and Carabanchel in Madrid), Mensajeros de la Paz (Madrid, León, and Toledo), Xilema Foundation, San Juan de Dios Hospital, Paris 365 Solidarity Dining Room, and Santa Lucía Penitentiary Center (Pamplona), REMAR (Madrid), Atenea Foundation in Sevilla and Sant Joan de Déu – Social Services/Social Work (Barcelona and Valencia), Nazaret Social Action (Alicante), Jesús Abandonado Foundation (Murcia), CaixaProinfancia (Tenerife), Red Cross in Loja (Granada), ADUNARE Foundation and CaixaProinfancia (Zaragoza). During these ‘in situ’ campaigns, all the people who needed new glasses received them at no cost.
The joint effort of ‘See to Grow’ and its collaborators continues to be essential in improving the quality of life for many people throughout the country.
