The SL Benfica Under-17s Win the International Women’s Soccer Tournament in Mallorca.

The SL Benfica U-17 players stood out at the Mallorca International Football Cup – Women’s Tournament, clinching the championship title at the tournament held on the Balearic Island. The Portuguese team achieved a convincing 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final, which took place on Saturday, April 20th at the Magaluf Football Field. With this triumph, SL Benfica secured their second title in the history of this competition, solidifying their position as one of the standout teams in this category, especially after reaching the final in three consecutive editions.

The tournament, held from April 17th to 20th, turned Calvià into a focal point of international women’s soccer, bringing together around 400 participants from different nationalities. Organized by the Vicente del Bosque Football Academy, in collaboration with the Balearic Islands Football Federation (FFIB) and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the event attracted young talents aged between 14 and 17 from up to nine different countries. Recognized teams such as Bayern München, Atlético de Madrid, and Real Betis were also part of this competition, characterized by emerging talent and a strong passion for soccer.

The event not only focused on sporting competitions but also included the “Women and Sports” conference, held on April 18th at the Palmanova Room. This space saw the participation of renowned Spanish sports figures such as Laura Gibanel, María España, and Cintia Rodríguez, who shared their experiences and offered inspiration to future generations. María España highlighted the importance of having role models in the sports field and the need to continue advocating for the role of women in this sector.

Concluding a successful edition of the Mallorca International Football Cup – Women’s Tournament, the event not only celebrated achievements on the field but also emphasized the strong fight for recognition and empowerment of women in sports, leaving a day full of emotion and commitment.
