Transport Department carries out adaptation works for pedestrians and cyclists on the N-125 road in Zaragoza.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is carrying out the urban integration works on the N-125 airport road in Zaragoza, in the stretch between kilometers 8.870 and 10.000. The works, which are estimated to take five months, aim to adapt the road for pedestrian and bicycle traffic, reducing the space designated for private vehicles and improving road safety.

With a budget of 3 million euros (including VAT), the works are funded by the European NextGenerationEU funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. This first phase includes various actions such as milling and resurfacing the pavement, installing sidewalks, renewing sound barriers, installing a stormwater collector, and replacing a section of asbestos cement in the water supply network. Additionally, a new network section, a bike lane, and public lighting will be implemented.

These improvements not only aim to provide greater safety but also seek to promote sustainable mobility in the region, aligning with the objectives of the Urban Agenda and the development of more sustainable and safer infrastructure in Aragon. Interventions on the N-125 are part of a broader strategy to modernize roads and urban spaces, adapting infrastructure to current and future mobility needs.
