The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has launched a project aimed at improving safety at the intersections of road N-340, located between kilometers 9.4 and 15.43 in the municipality of Chiclana de la Frontera, Cádiz. This initiative, which also includes the construction of a bike lane, seeks to promote sustainable mobility and ensure safer transit for both pedestrians and cyclists.
With a budget of 4,569,338.48 euros, including VAT, the project is fully funded by the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan. This funding is part of a broader effort to modernize the country’s infrastructure, with an emphasis on road safety and environmental respect.
During the construction works, milling operations are being carried out on the road surface, followed by the laying of bituminous mixtures, crucial for improving the quality and durability of the road in the long term. The push for these actions is highlighted by its focus on reducing emissions and preserving the natural environment, in line with the European guidelines set by the NextGenerationEU program.
This project is part of a series of actions taken by the Ministry in different parts of Andalusia, focused on modernizing and improving road infrastructure. The policy of promoting sustainable development reflects the government’s commitment to safer and more environmentally friendly mobility, benefiting all citizens.
