The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has transferred the ownership of the Salto de Caballo roundabout and its connecting branch to Madrid Avenue to the City Council of Toledo. The section being transferred has a length of 1,025.17 meters, with an estimated area of 46,893.85 square meters.
The mentioned area has undergone some works by the Ministry, which were completed at the end of last August with an investment of 1.28 million euros (including VAT). These works have improved its integration into the urban framework, also enhancing accessibility and mobility for vulnerable users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
The intervention is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which foresees the improvement of urban integration for at least 34 sections of the State Road Network.
After receiving the works by the City Council, the transfer was made effective on September 16, 2024, the date on which the Ministry issued the corresponding transfer resolution.
In this way, the City Council of Toledo assumes ownership of the section, with all its auxiliary elements and equipment, becoming responsible for its conservation and maintenance from now on.
This change of ownership does not involve the transfer of capital or generate economic obligations for the General State Administration, and it has been carried out in accordance with current regulations regarding roads, which establish the framework for agreements to transfer urban roads from the state network to City Councils.
