UHY International brings together representatives from 15 countries in Spain at the XXI UHY Forum.

Celebrated for over 20 years, a total of over 700 delegates have benefited from this high-level training event since its debut. The UHY Forum is the flagship event of UHY International, an international network of consulting, auditing, taxation, advisory, and legal services, with 334 offices in 96 countries. In 2024, the annual event featured Alan Farrelly, a member of the UHY International Council and Managing Partner of the Irish member firm of UHY, UHY FDW.

Every year, Grazalema (Cádiz) is the chosen location by UHY International to bring together the future leaders of this registered global network of consulting and auditing, among others, in the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) to audit companies listed in the United States.

In this 21st edition of the UHY Forum, more than 40 delegates from 15 countries (including Germany, USA, Kenya, Guatemala, New Zealand, Malaysia, Mauritius, Dubai, Spain, France, Greece, Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, and UK) had the opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge. The main objective of this event is to enhance the leadership and negotiation skills of attendees as a fundamental pillar for achieving their goals through effective team management.

Bernard Fay, Managing Partner of UHY FAY & CO (Spanish member firm), former President of UHY International, and Board member for 21 years until October 2019, describes the UHY Forum as “the ideal framework for professionals from around the world to meet and learn from each other, as well as to forge relationships that allow us to maintain one of our great differentiators: all UHY members know each other well, which enables us to offer truly excellent and coordinated service on an international level.”

Fay, the driving force behind this initiative that began in 2002, also highlighted the “invaluable work” of San Telmo Business School, responsible for the academic part of the program, which “guarantees the highest quality of content and training.” For Fay, “this collaboration allows us to offer an excellent platform for developing essential leadership and negotiation skills, crucial in the current global business environment, and to do so hand in hand with renowned professionals such as Manuel González Toruño or Luis Huete.”

With a history of over 20 years and over 700 delegates trained since its inception, the UHY Forum has become the key event on the annual calendar of events of this international network, which has 334 offices and over 9,000 professionals in a total of 96 countries.

Alan Farrelly, representative of this year’s Council at the UHY Forum
Attendees at Hotel El Fuerte Grazalema, venue for the 21st edition of the UHY Forum, also had the opportunity to exchange opinions, knowledge, and experiences with Alan Farrelly, Council member, Secretary of UHY International, and Managing Partner of UHY in Ireland (UHY FDW).

Farrelly, who has been with UHY International for 35 years, highlighted in his speech that the success of the organization lies in having “the best professionals, committed and aligned with UHY’s values” and emphasized the importance of having a large multidisciplinary team working together with the common purpose of achieving excellence. The Managing Partner of UHY FDW also emphasized the value of this type of meeting to establish strong professional connections and understand the challenges that members face in different countries, stating that “the diversity of UHY teams is crucial to their success.”

An initiative of the Spanish firm UHY Fay & Co
The UHY Forum is an initiative of the Spanish member firm of UHY International, UHY Fay & Co, and has been held continuously for 21 years. The idea for the UHY Forum came from Bernard Fay, Managing Partner of UHY Fay & Co, former President of UHY International, and Council member, who identified the need to create a space not only to exchange best practices and for the different member firms to strengthen relationships, but also to train the future leaders of UHY globally as a way to ensure quality now and in the future.

The 21st UHY Forum thus consolidates itself once again as a key meeting for highlighting the collaborative and global culture of UHY International, reinforcing the network’s commitment to talent and showcasing the different strategies that group firms implement around the world with the aim of continuing to offer the best tax, business, auditing, and legal solutions worldwide.
