University Education Takes Over Management of CEO Institute in Extremadura

Formación Universitaria, a leader in e-learning training in Spain, has finalized the acquisition of Instituto CEO in January 2025, located in Mérida, Extremadura. This acquisition expands the offerings of this institution, which already stands out in the field of online education, by integrating a face-to-face educational model.

Instituto CEO, managed by the Suero family since its founding in 1988, has had a significant impact on the training of more than 10,000 students throughout its history. With this new addition, Formación Universitaria aims to diversify its educational model, which has benefited more than 200,000 students on its virtual platforms, attracting approximately 10,000 enrollments annually from over 80 countries, with a notable predominance of Spanish students.

The expansion of Formación Universitaria is based on the offering of more than 600 academic programs, supported by a team of over 350 professionals in its staff and collaborators. The institution not only seeks to consolidate itself in the national market, but also internationally, focusing on vocational training, professional certifications, and continuous university education. It has recently signed agreements with universities like the Catholic University of Ávila and Nebrija University, and is in negotiations with several academic institutions in the United States.

On the other hand, Instituto CEO has been a symbol of education in Mérida, offering a wide range of accreditations and certifications. Among its recognitions, it is noteworthy as a Private Vocational Training Center collaborating with the Distance University of Madrid (Udima) and its accreditation by the Extremaduran Employment Service. The merger of both entities presents a promising opportunity to enrich the training offerings both in the Extremadura region and nationally and internationally.
