Weekly recovery plan update: August 24 – 30

This week, the official website of the Recovery Plan has published a new newsletter that compiles the latest tenders, grants, subsidies, and other actions of the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, part of the European NextGenerationEU funds, all of which are reported in the BOE and in the official bulletins of the autonomous communities.

In the newsletter corresponding to the period from August 24 to 30, 2024, several key points stand out:

1. The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) has awarded 300 million euros in the second call of the PERTE for the digitization of the urban water cycle. This call has benefited a total of 50 projects with grants ranging from 675,000 euros to 10 million per project. The average financing exceeds 80% of the budget, and in some cases reaches 100%. The grants will be distributed throughout the national territory, benefiting all autonomous communities.

2. The Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, has encouraged companies in the agri-food sector to participate in the second edition of the PERTE Agro, which has an allocation of 100 million euros in grants. The application window will open on September 19 and close on October 21.

3. The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has also called for grants to provide the equipment and infrastructure necessary for the provision of mobile communications services with 5G technology in areas where there is currently no 4G mobile coverage with a minimum service of 50 Mbps. This project is part of the Unique 5G Active Networks program.

For more information on these and other updates from the Recovery Plan, interested parties can download the full newsletter from August 24 to 30, 2024 from the official website. Additionally, a historical archive of newsletters is available to consult information from previous weeks.

This week has been crucial in advancing multiple projects within the Recovery Plan, with a particular focus on digitization, connectivity, and ecological sustainability, essential elements for Spain’s economic and social recovery post-pandemic.
