In the week of October 5th to 11th, 2024, the Recovery and Resilience Plan has made significant progress in its mission to promote economic recovery and ensure a more sustainable future for Spain. This plan, integrated into the European NextGenerationEU funds, provides a detailed summary of tenders, grants, subsidies, and other key aspects that are in full development weekly through the Official State Gazette (BOE) and various regional bulletins.
A significant development during this period has been the granting of aid under the Spain Tourism Experiences Program 2023, led by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the State Secretary of Tourism. With a budget of 19.7 million euros from the Next Generation EU funds, the program has supported 41 projects, including 7 individual and 34 associated projects, benefiting a total of 230 entities. This initiative focuses on diversifying and enriching the country’s tourism offer in order to attract higher quality tourism and solidify Spain as a leading tourist destination.
Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism has also authorized 14 new provisional resolutions within Line 1 of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) for industrial decarbonization. These resolutions involve a financial commitment of 96.3 million euros aimed at reducing CO2 emissions by more than 1.2 million tons annually. This step is part of a larger effort to transition towards a greener and more sustainable economy.
These developments highlight the Spanish government’s commitment to effectively and strategically use European funds to promote economic growth, incentivize industrial innovation, and strengthen environmental sustainability.
