Windows 11 Build 26120.1330 Preview Now Available in the Dev Channel.

Microsoft has announced the latest update for its Windows Insiders program members in the Dev Channel. The new test version, Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.1330 (KB5040543), is now available. This update focuses on introducing and refining new features based on Windows 11, version 24H2.

One of the most notable improvements includes the introduction of a new feature in File Explorer, which will allow tab duplication through right-click. On the other hand, Narrator will see significant improvements in its scanning mode, allowing for faster responses, especially when using Microsoft Edge and reading lengthy documents.

In the Settings section, changes focus on the Power and Battery section, allowing users to configure Power Mode both when the device is connected and when it is using the battery. Additionally, improvements have been made to the user interface of this section.

For developers, the mechanisms of the “End Task” option in the taskbar have been updated, removing the dialog window that asked for confirmation before ending a task. Furthermore, the System Information application (msinfo32) now respects the text size preferences defined in Settings > Accessibility > Text Size.

Among the general fixes is a solution for an issue on the Windows Update page within Settings, which affected the correct display in some languages.

Despite the new features, there are some known issues in this version. Insiders who join the Dev Channel will see an indication of a “repair version” next to the latest version available from Windows Update, indicating an in-place update necessary to obtain the latest version. Additionally, flaws have been identified in the launch of the Windows Sandbox environment, causing error 0x80370106, and issues in Task Manager, which may crash when navigating between different pages.

Program members who wish to receive the latest features as they become available can enable an option in Settings > Windows Update. These new features will be gradually rolled out to all users with this option activated.

Participating in the Windows Insiders program allows users to experiment with features before their general release, although there is a possibility that some of them may never see the public light or undergo significant changes before their final release. Microsoft developers continue to monitor user feedback to refine and improve the Windows 11 experience.
