Women Who Inspire: ASEME Highlights the Leadership of Seven Transformative Initiatives

Yesterday, November 19, the Spanish Association of Business Women (ASEME) celebrated the 22nd edition of the ASEME Business Woman Awards at the Royal Post Office. This event, attended by business and institutional leaders and under the Honorary Presidency of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Spain, took place within the framework of Women Entrepreneurship Day, whose purpose is to recognize female talent as an economic and social driver.

Under the motto “Alone Invisible, United Invincible”, ASEME reaffirmed its commitment to promoting female leadership and strengthening its alliance with the FCEM organization, which brings together business women from around the world and represents a network of five million companies in 120 countries.

During the gala, ASEME’s Vice President, Marina Sánchez, opened the event with a message highlighting the challenges still faced by female leadership, stating that “when one woman advances, we all advance”. ASEME’s President, Gricell Garrido, also emphasized the importance of promoting a stable environment with clear rules to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She also announced the creation of the Observatory for Female Leadership, aimed at showcasing the achievements of women in the economic field.

The Vice President of Economy and Employment of the Community of Madrid, Macamen Tejera, addressed the audience and emphasized the regional government’s support for the efforts and dedication of women in the business sector.

The awards recognized various categories, including the Social Commitment Award, presented to Coca-Cola Spain for its GIRA Mujeres program, and the Media Award to Forbes Women Spain for its work in showcasing female talent. Mercedes Oblanca Rojo, President of Accenture in Spain and Portugal, was awarded Executive of the Year, while María Luisa Berenguer Muñoz, founder of IDEEEA Therapeutics, was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year.

Furthermore, the gala honored Laura García Perdomo, founder of CREAHOLIC, as SME of the Year, and Carolina Roca Castillo, of Grupo Inmobiliario Roca, as ASEME Business Woman. The ASEME Honorary Award was granted to soprano and composer Pilar Jurado Ruiz, in recognition of her significant contribution to the advancement of women in the cultural field.

The event was supported by a wide range of sponsors and collaborators, who played a key role in promoting female talent, reaffirming their commitment to equality and a more diverse and inclusive business environment. ASEME also presented a special gift to its allies, symbolizing the strength of teamwork and the importance of each contribution in strengthening female leadership. A jury composed of recognized leaders in the business and institutional field endorsed the quality of the applications submitted.
