The first edition of CYBERFRONT Donostia has concluded today with a day focused on young people and entrepreneurs, transforming the Anoeta Stadium into a center for learning about cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies. This event is part of the city’s initiatives to become a European reference in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
The initial day, which attracted over 300 professionals to the Kursaal to discuss Europe’s digital challenges and technological sovereignty, gave way to a program designed especially for young audiences. Close to 200 participants have had the opportunity to explore, in a practical and educational way, the challenges and opportunities in the field of computer security.
The day began with the presentation “How I set up my cybersecurity startup”, in which prominent representatives of the sector, such as Igor Unanue from Thales Group and Roberto Velasco from HDIV, shared their experiences and careers in such a specialized field. Moderated by Ainhoa Aldasoro from Fomento de San Sebastián, this panel provided an inspiring insight that motivated the attendees.
Participants then split into groups to attend various workshops. One of the most prominent, led by María Aperador and Óscar Hurtado, focused on the challenges of the new digital era. Another, led by Daniel Romano Ozcáriz, addressed the importance of conducting penetration tests on technological systems to ensure their security.
Other spaces in the stadium offered workshops on different aspects of cybersecurity, including entrepreneurship in this sector, social engineering techniques, and protecting data against cyber attacks. The morning ended with the dynamic CTF CyberEkin, a challenge designed to stimulate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in cybersecurity environments.
The purpose of this day has been to bring strategic technologies closer to the public while stimulating young talent, consolidating Donostia as a key point in Europe to face contemporary digital challenges. This event is part of WEEKINN and is organized in collaboration with the GAIA Cluster and CyberEUS, as well as the support of institutions such as Fomento de San Sebastián and the Basque Government, along with the sponsorship of Más Orange and Mastercard.
