Young people choose the insurance sector for its offerings in AI and technology.

The insurance sector has surpassed the banking sector and has established itself as one of the most attractive fields for the new generations. According to Allianz Partners, this shift represents not only an opportunity for insurance and assistance companies, but also a challenge: achieving effective synergy between young professionals and veteran employees.

A recent study by the Guidewire platform reveals that over 43% of young people consider the insurance sector to be an attractive place to work, a figure that is two points higher than the banking sector. This trend is even more pronounced among young people aged 18 to 24, with 60% showing interest in the sector, providing insurance companies with an opportunity to attract talent and expand in terms of technological skills.

One of the main attractions of the sector is its ability to reinvent itself and the technological evolution it has undergone in recent years, driven by digitization and the emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Users are increasingly convinced that AI can play a key role in solving everyday problems. For example, 8 out of 10 respondents want an alert service that warns them of possible dangers to their property, such as intruders in the home (21%) or monitoring pipes to detect water leaks (30%). Only 18% are reluctant to exposure to AI, a figure that drops to 6% among young people, suggesting greater future acceptance of the technology among new generations.

“The technological evolution in the insurance industry is evident,” says Marta Artieda, Director of Human Resources at Allianz Partners Spain. “User needs have changed: they are more aware of risks and seek quick and digital solutions. That’s why it is crucial to attract specialized and technologically advanced profiles.”

In response to this demand, Allianz Partners has implemented a system to attract talent for innovative roles in areas such as Underwriting, Product, Commercial, Quality, Customer Service, and Legal. “We focus on young profiles who bring current knowledge, but we also encourage continuous training among our employees,” adds Artieda.

Furthermore, Allianz Partners strives to nurture interaction between new and veteran employees through an agile methodology that facilitates integration into the work environment. The company has a mentoring program in which more experienced employees mentor new talents, and vice versa, juniors also share knowledge and tools with veterans. This dynamic, called “Inverted Mentoring,” aims to create an environment of knowledge exchange that keeps the company at the forefront of innovation, technology, and customer service, concludes the Director of Human Resources.
