Release of Windows 11 Build 26100.4482 in the Release Preview Channel.

Microsoft has recently released a new update for Windows 11, specifically version 26100.4482 (KB5060829), aimed at users in the Insider program on the 24H2 preview channel. This update includes a series of improvements and new features, organized into two categories: gradual and regular deployment.

In the gradual deployment category, small changes related to default browsers are being introduced in the EEA region. For example, more file types and links will be automatically associated with the new browser if it registers them, and the default browser will be pinned to the taskbar and the Start menu unless the option to disable this is chosen. A button has also been added to change the default .pdf file settings directly in the app settings.

Another new feature for administrators includes the option to apply Start menu pins only once. This means users will receive the pins configured by the administrator at their first login, allowing them to customize their pin layout afterward. Additionally, improvements have been made to the taskbar, which now adjusts the size of the icons, allowing more applications to be displayed when space is limited.

Among the added features, a new device migration system stands out, which will facilitate the transfer of files and settings during the setup process of a new device. Improvements have also been made to the performance of extracting compressed files and to the Narrator, which now includes a screen curtain option that hides visual content while reading aloud, thus ensuring user privacy in shared environments.

On the other hand, in the regular deployment, several issues related to storage efficiency and Windows search functionality have been resolved, as well as inconveniences affecting search and certain applications. Thanks to these improvements, it is expected that the user experience with Windows 11 will become smoother and more efficient.

This release reaffirms Microsoft’s commitment to continuously enhancing the experience for its users by adapting the functionality of the operating system to their needs and preferences.
