Valencia Will Host the AE2025 Congress with a Record Number of International Attendees

Here’s the translation to American English:

Valencia will host the Aquaculture Europe 2025 Congress (AE2025), taking place from September 22 to 25, and it promises to be a highlight event in the field of aquaculture on an international level. With the participation of 2,500 attendees from over 70 countries and the presence of 170 companies in the sector, this congress is expected to mark a milestone in the history of aquaculture due to its large turnout.

The Valencia Congress Center will become the main venue for important discussions focused on sustainability and the exploitation of marine products. The selection of Valencia as the host city is not coincidental; the city has established itself as a leader in marine research thanks to the Complementary Marine Sciences Program GVA-ThinkInAzul, which brings together over 400 researchers from various disciplines associated with universities and CSIC centers in the Valencian Community. This consortium works on seven key strategic lines to address the sector’s challenges.

The AE2025 is designed as a fundamental forum for knowledge exchange and collaborative networking. It will feature 36 parallel sessions taking place in 12 rooms of the Congress Center, addressing essential issues such as the adaptation of reproduction and nutrition of aquatic species in the context of climate change. Additionally, technological innovations will be presented to enhance the quality and safety of marine foods, as well as advancements in the digitalization of aquaculture production.

One of the most relevant sessions of the congress will be ThinKInAzul, which will include the participation of six autonomous communities, focusing on research related to Sustainable and Intelligent Aquaculture. The conclusions from these discussions will aim to strengthen scientific infrastructures and develop effective responses to the effects of global warming, which significantly impact the Mediterranean region.

Jaume Pérez, project coordinator in the Valencian Community, has emphasized that the congress represents a unique opportunity to establish alliances between different regions and sectors, facilitating a more effective ecological transition. With its strategic location in the Mediterranean and commitment to sustainable development, Valencia is consolidating itself as a reference laboratory to address the challenges of the 21st century related to aquaculture production and marine conservation.
