The Hospital del Mar has achieved significant recognition in the national healthcare sector, positioning its Pathology Service as the fifth most reputable in all of Spain, according to the Merco Healthcare Reputation Monitor. The tenth edition of this report, presented on November 27, highlights the hospital’s rise in the overall ranking, moving from 54th to 21st place, which demonstrates a noticeable improvement in its public perception.
This prestigious monitor evaluated a total of 34 hospital services, and the Hospital del Mar not only obtained a privileged position in Pathology, but also saw how other departments shone. The Dermatology, Geriatrics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services reached the ninth position, while the Rheumatology Service placed tenth, and Nephrology occupied the eleventh position. These achievements highlight the hospital’s ongoing commitment to quality healthcare.
In the overall panorama, the Hospital del Mar ranks 21st among the 100 public hospitals included in this study, solidifying its position as the fourth best hospital in Catalonia. This ranking is led by the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid, which continues to lead the national ranking.
The Healthcare Reputation Monitor is based on approximately 9,000 surveys conducted with various professionals in the sector, such as doctors, hospital executives, pharmacists, and specialized journalists. This broad spectrum ensures an objective and thorough analysis of the healthcare reputation in Spain, faithfully reflecting the perceptions of those who are closely familiar with the operation of healthcare services.
