AI driving the evolution of digital payments

On September 26, the Secure Payments & ID Congress 2024 will take place at Kinépolis, Ciudad de la Imagen, Madrid, one of the most prominent events in the digital payments and secure identification sector. In this edition, Worldline [Euronext: WLN], one of the global leaders in payment services, will have a significant presence at stand number 18.

Recent data shows that over 80% of transactions in Spain are conducted through cards and digital payments, aligning with European trends. In Europe, over 50% of users prefer interacting with brands through messaging apps like WhatsApp, driving the adoption of these platforms for purchases and payments due to their convenience and speed.

In this context, Worldline will showcase innovative solutions at the congress that meet current market demands, promoting the digitization of payment methods in Spain and Europe. Available solutions include Worldline Smart Engage, Worldline Tap on Mobile, EasyPay, and Worldline WhatsApp for Business, among others.

Worldline will lead a roundtable discussion titled “Creating a new era in the world of payments,” focused on the challenges posed by Generative Artificial Intelligence and its impact on payment methods. Moderated by Miguel Álvarez, Sales Payment Director at Worldline, the debate will feature prominent professionals like Gustavo Tonti, Head of Fraud Management at DESTINIA, Pedro Pablo de Pinto Fernández, Fraud Manager at ONEY ESPAÑA, Laura Tamayo, Business Development and Data Director at IBERPAY, and David Jofre Tejada, VP of Sales & Business Development in Europe for SHIFT4.

During the event, there will be a live demonstration of Worldline WhatsApp for Business, a solution known for its robustness and reliability, widely adopted by companies across various sectors. This tool facilitates customer service through chatbots or agents, digitizes processes and self-service experiences, and enables online product and service sales, accepting payments and automating contracting and documentation processes.

The growing preference for messaging applications signals an emerging trend: AI-driven conversations that progressively replace the use of SMS and emails, offering a safer and smoother digital experience.

Worldline will also present its Worldline Smart Engage solution, designed to enhance and measure customer service experience and quality through interaction at payment terminals. Alongside this, the Worldline Tap on Mobile solution will allow merchants of all sizes to accept payments using a smartphone, tablet, or business device.

Additionally, attendees can learn about advanced solutions such as Wordline Scale Issuing, Credit Insights & Scoring, Fraud Management, Instant Payments, and Worldline Digital Identity Suite & Hub, as well as the capabilities of Worldline’s Digital Competence Centre.

Finally, the Worldline stand will feature a coffee maker to showcase the Selft2000 solution live and provide visitors with an opportunity to chat and learn more about the innovations while enjoying a coffee.
