Alacant Desperta will be back in 2025 with La Crida.

The cultural collective Alacant Desperta is preparing to kick off the year 2025 with its iconic Crida, an event that will take place on January 19th at Navarro Rodrigo square in Benalúa. This year, the celebration takes on greater significance as the proceeds will go to the victims of the floods that devastated the province last October, demonstrating a solidarity commitment with those affected.

The day will start at 10:30 a.m. with a chikún session, allowing attendees to enjoy a relaxation and wellness activity. Throughout the day, the program will be filled with cultural and recreational proposals, including music, poetry, theater, and sports performances. In addition, intergenerational workshops on comics, painting, furniture restoration, chess, and ceramics will be offered, aiming to promote active participation from the entire community and draw attention to the rich cultural offerings that Alacant Desperta has to offer.

This event will also serve as a meeting point for citizens to share their concerns and learn about the cultural agenda that will take place within the framework of the grand festival scheduled for May at Tossal.

The Crida will have the collaboration of various local associations, enriching the event with their contributions. Among them is the El Templete Neighbors Association, which will offer a castanet concert, as well as Comic Alicante, which will hold a drawing workshop. Other entities such as Alicante Entiende LGTBI, the volunteer health association Enfeser, and ASAFAN, representing large families in the city, will also be part of this unmissable event.

One of the novelties this year will be the guided tour of the neighborhood parish crypt, organized by the cultural association Alicante Vivo, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and open to all interested parties. In this way, the Crida will not only become a celebration of local culture but also a space for mutual aid and community reconstruction, strengthening the bonds between neighbors after recent adverse events.
