Blockchain Tools and ASPID sign agreement to create Solidarity NFTs.

The Lerida cooperative Blockchain Tools and the Association of Paraplegics and Physically Disabled People of Lleida (ASPID) have signed an innovative agreement with the aim of creating charitable NFTs. This collaboration is part of a pioneering nationwide initiative to celebrate ASPID’s 30th anniversary by creating a non-fungible token (NFT) based on a specially commemorative drawing. These NFTs will be presented during the ASPID Awards 2025, where they will be given to the honorees.

Albert Clivillé, president of Blockchain Tools, has emphasized the educational importance of this project. Clivillé highlights that the use of blockchain technology, known for its security, will introduce a reliable system to non-profit entities. The collaboration will allow the ASPID awards, traditionally physical objects, to include these certified digital pieces as unique and original.

Juanjo Ruiz, a partner at Blockchain Tools, hopes that this proposal will inspire other organizations to adopt similar technologies. Despite the ability to digitize any artwork, it is blockchain technology that enables the implementation of smart contracts that establish sales conditions. Ruiz emphasizes that, in this case, the created NFTs will not be transferable, emphasizing their charitable nature.

This agreement also aims to support artists by providing them with new ways to generate income from their creations. Clivillé points out that the rights associated with an NFT allow the creator to receive benefits each time their work is sold, thus increasing its value. Ruiz adds that this technology, which has already revolutionized art, could transform non-profit organizations by offering better compensation to donors and new advantages.

To ensure the legal viability of the project, Blockchain Tools has the advice of Joaquim Matinero, an expert in the financial-technological field, ensuring transparency in the use of blockchain technology by non-profit entities. ASPID, which has been increasing the quality of life for people with disabilities in Lleida for over three decades, continues to stand out for promoting innovative solutions for the benefit of its users.

Blockchain Tools, based in Lleida, is known for democratizing blockchain technology. Led by Albert Clivillé, Juanjo Ruiz, Antonio Plana, Xavier Vilardell, and Oscar Ortega, the cooperative has demonstrated the potential and transformative security of this technology, having applied it in various areas, from the creation of NFTs to the organization of electronic citizen consultations.
