BME brings together 105 companies and 150 investors at the 20th edition of the Medcap Forum.

The Palacio de la Bolsa de Madrid will host the 20th edition of the Medcap Forum from tomorrow, May 28, until the 30th. The leading event for small and medium companies will bring together 105 companies with 150 investors, 25% of which are international. These investors come from Germany, Finland, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Switzerland, Italy, Hong Kong, the United States, Andorra, India, and Portugal.

As every year, the Medcap Forum will feature panels discussing current issues and private meetings between companies and investors where companies can explain their business model and perspectives. Investors have requested over 1,100 meetings, a historic record for the Forum.

Jos Dijsselhof, president of BME and CEO of SIX, explains that “this year we celebrate the Medcap Forum in a favorable environment for the addition of new companies. In fact, at SIX we have had the two biggest IPOs in the world so far this year, Puig in Spain and Galderma in Switzerland. Events like these are important for companies of all sizes to understand the advantages of listing on the stock market.”

“We celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the Medcap Forum with the satisfaction of seeing it become a key event for investors and investment in small and medium cap listed companies. Increasing the visibility of companies is one of BME’s main objectives, and events like this contribute to that. We look forward to three days of interesting debates and fruitful meetings between investors and companies, in a context of reactivation of IPOs and positive prospects for the arrival of more companies to BME markets (the Stock Exchange, BME Growth, and BME Scaleup),” says Javier Hernani, CEO of BME.

The Forum will start on the 28th at 9:30 with an opening session by Jos Dijsselhof, president of BME and CEO of SIX, and a special presentation by Paula Conthe, Secretary General of the Treasury. Later, Javier Hernani, CEO of BME, will participate in the panel “Growth and competitiveness in strategic sectors” along with other industry leaders.

The first day includes two other panels. One focusing on the macroeconomic analysis of the Spanish economy and another on the importance of promoting access to financial markets for new companies. The second day will feature three panels, including opportunities for investment in small and mid caps and active management in corporate finance and institutional investments in fixed income.

The final day of the Forum will include a panel on IPOs and another on the objective of Net Zero 2050, with representatives from various companies and organizations. Cuatrecasas and Norbolsa are the main sponsors of the Medcap Forum, with other sponsors including Renta 4, GVC Gaesco, PwC, EthiFinance, Mediatree, Morningstar, and World Television (Wtv.), and collaborators including Atribus, the Spanish Analyst Institute, and CFA Society Spain.
