Fuchs Drives Sustainable Innovation with 3 Million Euros in Castellbisbal.

FUCHS Lubricants, one of the leading companies in the lubricants sector worldwide, has reported a turnover of 81 million euros in 2023, which implies a growth of 30% in the last two years. The company, based in Castellbisbal, has diversified its operations towards different sectors, including wind energy, the food industry, glass, and electric mobility. This focus on diversification reflects its strong commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, as it generates 35% of its energy autonomously and obtains the rest from renewable sources.

With the aim of strengthening its position in the market, FUCHS has decided to invest 3 million euros in the renovation and expansion of its research and development laboratories. This investment is key to the creation of advanced technologies that improve product efficiency and minimize environmental impact. Since 2020, the plant operates with a neutral carbon footprint, thanks to the exclusive use of renewable energy.

The R&D laboratory, which has increased its surface to 500 square meters and has a team of 26 specialists, has established itself as a center of competence within the FUCHS Group. Its focus is on the development of products in critical areas such as rolling and industrial degreasers, and its microbiology laboratory investigates methods to detect microorganisms and prevent contaminations.

FUCHS is also in the process of developing innovative solutions that operate at low temperatures, contributing to the reduction of energy consumption. Additionally, it has introduced encapsulated additives that enhance safety in workplaces and uses revalued raw materials, thus favoring the circular economy. These actions are part of its commitment to transparency and sustainability in all its operations.

On the other hand, the company has adopted a LEAN methodology, focused on optimizing its processes and maximizing organizational efficiency. With over 150 employees, it promotes a collaborative work environment that encourages the active participation of multidisciplinary teams in decision-making about the company’s future.

FUCHS, founded over 90 years ago in Germany, has established itself as the leading independent provider of lubricants globally, offering more than 10,000 references in products and services for various industrial and automotive applications. Its continuous growth and dedication to sustainable innovation position it as a benchmark in the industry.
