The German multinational FUCHS Lubricants has announced a significant investment of 11 million euros in its production plant, laboratories, and headquarters in Castellbisbal, Barcelona. This important move is part of the company’s strategic plan for 2024, with the main goal of enhancing its research capacity, improving production, and advancing in process automation. The company expects this investment to increase its revenue by 10%, reaching 81 million euros next year.
FUCHS Lubricants has strategically focused on diversifying its specialty markets, such as wind energy, the food and beverage industry, and the manufacturing of vehicles and automotive components. The company also strengthens its distribution market aimed at professional clients, including fleets, workshops, dealerships, and companies dedicated to public works machinery.
In its continuous effort towards innovation, the company has progressed in process automation and increasing its production capacity. This development includes developing lubrication solutions for new specialties and improvements in the storage of products in small containers, vital for the automotive industry.
Recognized for offering more than 10,000 lubrication solutions for various industrial and automotive sectors, FUCHS Lubricants plant is exemplary in sustainability, operating with carbon neutrality since 2020. The general director, Eladio Cuadrado, has emphasized that the investment will allow continued improvement in operational efficiency and sustainability, priorities for the company.
Part of the investment includes the expansion of the R&D laboratories, already considered a reference within the FUCHS Group. These laboratories, with a team of 26 people, have been extended by 500 square meters and updated with new testing and analysis equipment, enabling the company to continue developing specialized products focused on energy efficiency and the use of sustainable raw materials.
FUCHS Lubricants also stands out for its exceptional microbiology laboratory, unique within the group, used to improve and adapt products to various local conditions.
The company greatly values the commitment of its over 150 employees in Spain, who have been instrumental in their evolution and adaptation to new market demands. The renewal of 40% of the workforce in the last five years, along with the implementation of methodologies like Lean, has allowed the company to increase efficiency and meet growing demand.
