The innovative urban light model has been presented to the public at an exclusive event, where its design and manufacture based on sustainable materials have been highlighted. In this way, OK Mobility will incorporate 5,000 units of the new LIUX GEKO into its fleet over the next three years.
LIUX, the innovative Spanish startup of electric vehicles, presented the final prototype of its light urban vehicle, the LIUX GEKO, on Thursday at the headquarters of OK Mobility in Palma de Mallorca.
The prototype presentation is part of the agreement announced by which OK Mobility will acquire 5,000 units of the LIUX GEKO over the next three years. This alliance strengthens OK Mobility’s commitment to LIUX, especially after OK Group, through its subsidiary OK Ventures, became the main investor in the startup last July.
The LIUX GEKO is characterized by its compact design and the use of sustainable materials, such as flax fiber and recyclable resins. With a base range of 170 km —expandable up to 230 km— and an energy efficiency exceeding 13 km/kWh, this vehicle is designed to redefine urban mobility in the 21st century.
As part of the presentation event, the final prototype of the vehicle was unveiled to attendees, who had the opportunity to drive it and experience its innovative technology firsthand. The event also featured the presence of Antoni Costa, Vice President and Counselor of Economy, Finance and Innovation of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
Antonio Espinosa, CEO of LIUX, stated: “This agreement allows us to ensure a strong boost for the production of the LIUX GEKO, which will start in the second half of 2025 in Spain. The LIUX GEKO is a commitment to a new way of understanding urban mobility. Its innovative design, energy efficiency, and use of sustainable materials make it a unique product in the market. With the GEKO, we are proving that it is possible to combine advanced technology with a spectacular and environmentally friendly design.”
Meanwhile, Othman Ktiri, CEO of OK Mobility, assured: “This agreement goes beyond mere provision of vehicles. It is about generating synergies that allow us to successfully face the new technological and sustainable challenges posed by mobility. In this sense, we could not have chosen a better partner than LIUX, a ‘Made in Spain’ startup that represents everything we are passionate about: entrepreneurship, mobility, and sustainability.” “With the LIUX GEKO, a vehicle that fits perfectly into our mobility lines — rental, subscription, and leasing —, we are entering the sector of urban and tourist micromobility,” Ktiri concludes.
Individuals interested in purchasing the LIUX GEKO can sign up on the waiting list through the startup’s official website: www.liux.eco.
