Microsoft has released today the Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.4955 (KB5043131) update for both the Beta Channel and the Preview Channel of the Windows Insider program. This new version is targeted at users who are on Windows 10, version 22H2.
Both the Beta and Preview channels will receive the same Windows 10 builds. However, the Beta Channel is where new features are tested with Insiders that are not yet ready for all Windows 10 users.
This update includes several features and improvements for Insiders in both channels. Some of the highlighted improvements include:
Microsoft SSO Sign-In: It has been observed that the SSO prompt required by the European Union Digital Markets Act (DMA) appears too frequently. This occurs when authenticating using a certificate. For more information, visit the link provided by Microsoft.
IE Mode in Microsoft Edge: Microsoft Edge has been observed to occasionally become unresponsive when using IE mode.
Country and Operator Settings (COSA): This update updates COSA profiles for certain mobile operators.
Media Playback: Media playback may stop when using certain surround sound technology.
File Explorer and Taskbar: The Windows server stops responding when using applications like File Explorer and Taskbar.
Windows Update opt-in notifications: These now appear when logging in.
Directory enumeration: This may fail if a directory has symbolic links with long target names.
With these improvements, Microsoft aims to continue optimizing the user experience and ensure that new features are tested and perfected before their general release. The Windows Insider Program team thanks users for their participation and constant feedback.
