Publication of the 2023 Statistical Report on Migration and Asylum Now Available.

Eurostat recently published the statistical annex of the 2023 annual report on migration and asylum, co-produced by Eurostat and the European Migration Network (EMN). This document provides a unique insight into the most significant developments related to migration and asylum during the year. The annex includes an overview of relevant statistics related to migration.

The first part of the annex covers statistics for the European Union and Norway, spanning the period between 2020 and 2023, and 10 thematic areas: legal migration and mobility, international protection including asylum, temporary protection, unaccompanied minors, integration, citizenship and statelessness, borders, Schengen and visas, irregular migration, human trafficking, return and readmission.

The second part consists of additional national data collected by Eurostat and provided by the National Contact Points (NCPs) of the EMN. This segment includes data on human trafficking, visa policies, unaccompanied minors, and other vulnerable groups.

The report, which offers comprehensive coverage and details the challenges and advances in migration and asylum, becomes an essential tool for formulating policies and making informed decisions in a European context that continues to face significant migration challenges.
