Qualcomm Expands Snapdragon X Series at IFA 2024 by Incorporating Copilot+ into Everyday Devices

In May, Microsoft announced a new category of devices, the Copilot+ PC. These computers are the fastest and smartest with Windows operating system ever built, and feature a new type of silicon with NPUs capable of performing over 40 trillion operations per second (TOPS), a battery life that lasts all day, and innovative artificial intelligence experiences. This total rethink of the PC has artificial intelligence at its core, marking the most significant change in the Windows platform in decades.

Now, at IFA, the annual electronics fair held in Berlin, Copilot+ PCs were the center of attention along with Microsoft partners, including Qualcomm, who made a major announcement before the event, introducing their 8-core Snapdragon X Plus platform. This processor is powered by an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU for increased responsiveness and efficiency.

The new Snapdragon platform includes an integrated GPU, support for up to three external monitors, and a 45 TOPS NPU. It also boasts leading performance per watt, which along with its significant advances in connectivity, has the potential to elevate productivity to new levels, whether you are creating presentations on the go, streaming video, or performing any other task.

Stay tuned for selected PCs that will be equipped with the 8-core Snapdragon X Plus platform, as they are now available.
