Recovery Plan Bulletin: Update from October 26th to November 1st.

In the last week of October 2024, the Recovery Plan has made significant progress according to the weekly bulletin of the NextGenerationEU mechanism. This instrument, key in the distribution of European funds aimed at economic recovery, has launched various tenders and aid designed to promote sustainable and economic development throughout Spain.

One of the highlights of the week was the meeting of the Investment Council of the Regional Resilience Fund (FRA). Representatives from all autonomous communities and cities, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprises, the Presidency of the Government, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) participated in this meeting. The objective was to evaluate the first projects proposed by both public and private entities. This fund has the potential to distribute up to 20 billion euros in loans, offering favorable and long-term conditions to finance regional initiatives.

In the agricultural sector, the Secretary of State for Agriculture and Food, Begoña García Bernal, visited irrigation modernization projects in Níjar and El Ejido, Almería. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has committed more than 67 million euros to these projects, which seek to optimize the use of non-conventional waters to achieve more efficient and sustainable irrigation.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Culture, through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA), launched a call to promote the international distribution of Spanish films. This initiative, part of the Recovery Plan, has an initial budget of one million euros, with the possibility of increasing it by an additional 500,000 euros depending on the availability of credit.

Those interested in obtaining more information about these initiatives can download the weekly bulletin through the Recovery Plan website. There is also an archive of bulletins available that allows tracking the evolution and impact of this effort to revitalize the Spanish economy.

The conclusion of this week calls on municipalities and local entities to continue working together. The goal is to ensure that the objectives of the Recovery and Resilience Plan are successfully achieved, thus providing a renewed boost to the country’s economy.
