Invest in Bogotá, the capital city’s investment promotion agency, will be present at InnoTrans, the most important international fair in transportation, infrastructure, and technology, set to take place in Berlin. During the event, the agency will participate in various meetings with rail operators, engineering consultants, technology developers, train and rolling stock builders, as well as investors. The goal is to bolster the equipment for Bogotá’s Metro System and the Bogotá Region’s Regiotram.
As part of a state trade mission, led by the Ministry of Transport and the National Infrastructure Agency, Invest in Bogotá will join InnoTrans, which is celebrating its fourteenth edition this year. The agency’s participation aims to secure collaboration and attract companies interested in investing in the urban equipment and stations of Bogotá’s Metro System. Moreover, Cundinamarca’s Mobility Secretariat will work to gain investment for its Regiotram del Norte and Regiotram de Occidente rail projects.
Isabella Muñoz, executive director of Invest in Bogotá, stated that the agency’s involvement in this event is part of the development plans of the current Bogotá and Cundinamarca administration, aimed at strengthening the rail system, including both the city’s metro and the rail integration with the region. Muñoz highlighted that the main objectives during the fair would be to seek financing for the extension of the first Metro line, contact real estate companies and station management specialists, and acquire knowledge about cutting-edge technology for future rail project bids.
The agency-organized meetings will include encounters with rail operators, engineering consultants, technology developers, train and rolling stock builders, and investors. The agenda also features a visit to the Berlin Metro operations center.
InnoTrans, opening this Tuesday until the following September 27, will feature five specialized trade sectors in railway technology, railway infrastructure, public transport, interiors, and tunnel construction. The event will unfold across 42 pavilions at the Berlin fairgrounds. In its 2022 edition, the fair gathered more than 2,771 exhibitors from 56 countries and welcomed 137,403 visitors from 137 nations.
