With the Christmas season approaching, early planning for toy purchases is becoming a more common practice among Spanish families. A recent report from ALDI reveals that over 60% of families organize their purchases at least a month before the festivities. This behavior is mainly due to the search for more affordable prices, the guarantee of availability of desired toys, and the desire to avoid crowds and stress in the days leading up to Christmas.
This study, now in its sixth edition, provides a detailed analysis of toy purchasing patterns in Spain during this time of year. It highlights that a third of parents show great interest in new releases, mainly using brochures and store visits to stay informed of the latest trends. Additionally, 32% of buyers have waited in lines to ensure they get specific products.
The budget for toys will remain at similar levels to last year, with 63% of families planning to spend the same amount. However, an increase in total spending is expected, as more households are willing to increase their expenses compared to the previous year, while the proportion of those planning to spend less has decreased.
Price continues to be a crucial factor in purchasing decisions, with eight out of ten families considering it very important. In this context, supermarkets have become the preferred option for toy purchases, thanks to their competitive prices and the value for money they offer.
ALDI, in particular, aims to stand out with a wide range of affordable toys for all ages. For this year, the chain has announced that it will offer over 550 toys, with a good portion priced at or below 9.99 euros. Wooden toys, made with sustainable wood certified by the FSC, hold a significant place in their catalog.
With over 450 stores throughout Spain, ALDI reaffirms its commitment to providing quality products at the best price. The company continuously adapts to the needs of its customers, making it easier to access responsible and quality toys. This policy is part of their strategy to maintain their position as a leader in the discount sector in the Spanish and European markets.
