Sustainable Transformation: Workshops for Microenterprises in Logroño According to Agenda 2030

This month an innovative project has started in Logroño with the aim of guiding Spanish microenterprises towards more sustainable models, in line with the 2030 Agenda. This ambitious program, funded by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and the 2030 Agenda, is led by the COPADE Foundation in collaboration with the Spanish Multisectorial Association of Microenterprises (AEMME) and other entities.

The project, titled “Promoting the Transformation of Microenterprises towards Innovative Models of Sustainable Development that Contribute to the 2030 Agenda”, seeks to provide small businesses with personalized tools to assess and enhance their social and environmental impact. An innovative element of this program is the implementation of the “ASG Footprint”, a methodology that allows companies to diagnose their strengths and areas for improvement, thus developing action plans to promote sustainability in their operations.

Given that microenterprises represent more than 93% of the business fabric in Spain, their contribution to the country’s economic and social development is crucial. For this reason, the project has focused on offering workshops, mentorship, and free advice to align business practices with the principles of the 2030 Agenda. The workshops, which will be held at the headquarters of the Ibercaja Foundation in Logroño, aim to help entrepreneurs identify areas for improvement in sustainability through innovative actions and the exchange of experiences.

The first workshop is scheduled for November 29, 2024, and will be open to all microentrepreneurs interested in improving their environmental, social, and economic impact. Registration, which is free, is already available through the AEMME website.

This effort is not limited to La Rioja, as the project is being developed in various autonomous communities, seeking to positively impact a wide range of microenterprises throughout the country. The COPADE Foundation is conducting an analysis of the sector to identify the main barriers and strengths, with the aim of creating a guide with at least 100 practical recommendations for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

The backing of the Ministry of Social Rights ensures that this initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The extensive experience of the COPADE Foundation in sustainability and corporate social responsibility ensures that the project has the desired impact.

This program becomes a call to action for microenterprises, offering them the opportunity to transform their businesses and contribute to a more sustainable future. Founded in 2004, AEMME continues to support individual entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, and small family-owned businesses, helping them adapt to the changes and challenges of the business environment.
