Take Advantage of Public Assistance and Dual Certification

Origen Solar, an engineering company based in Sant Cugat, is spearheading an initiative aimed at encouraging investment in photovoltaic solar energy by leveraging public subsidies and municipal bonuses. In this town, the local government has introduced specific incentives to promote photovoltaic self-consumption, including tax breaks on the Property Tax (IBI) that can go up to 50% for a span of seven years. These incentives are targeted at residential communities, individual homes, and tertiary use buildings, provided they use solar energy for at least 50% of their energy consumption.

Additionally, companies that integrate or produce renewable energy can benefit from significant reductions in the Economic Activities Tax (IAE), with a 40% cut in the first two years and 20% in the following two. Daniel Rubio, the CEO of Origen Solar, points out that the bonus model in Sant Cugat exemplifies how public incentives can expedite the shift towards a more sustainable energy model. According to Rubio, aside from savings on electricity bills, these incentives make solar energy an exceptionally profitable investment.

Photovoltaic solar installations offer financial stability and long-term profitability that can extend over 25 years. Rubio emphasizes that the benefits of this investment are not only continuous savings but also current bonuses that facilitate quick amortization and enhance the return on investment.

Origen Solar also stands out for providing dual energy certification in all its installations, in line with the requirements of Royal Decree-law 18/2022. This double certification not only ensures sustainability but also allows clients to benefit from tax deductions on their tax return, covering up to 60% of the initial investment. These tax deductions will be available until the end of 2025, and alongside municipal bonuses, they can significantly reduce the cost of installations.

Since its inception in February 2020, Origen Solar has been committed to sustainability, energy efficiency, and social responsibility, offering comprehensive solutions in photovoltaic solar energy and aerothermics for a wide range of clients, from individuals to entire communities and industries. The company focuses on maximizing benefits for its clients, advising them at every stage of the process to ensure a more sustainable and profitable future through energy self-consumption.
