The Mediterranean Palace Hotel in Tenerife Reopens with Renovations for the Summer

The Mediterranean Palace Hotel in Tenerife Reopens in July with a Renovated Look and Facilities

The Mediterranean Palace, the iconic and pioneering hotel of Playa de las Américas on the island of Tenerife, is reopening its doors after a comprehensive refurbishment that features facilities inspired by tropical and natural elements, blended with a contemporary design. This renovation has also extended to its culinary offerings, including two new a la carte restaurants and a renovation of the main restaurant. Additional amenities include the poolside “Kiosk” bar, the “Drago” terrace, the Sports Bar, and the Magma Night Show.

The 5-star Mediterranean Palace, located in the first-line beachfront Mare Nostrum Resort in Tenerife with views of the Atlantic Ocean, has been thoroughly renovated and is ready to welcome guests with new and exciting improvements from this July.

The renovation project involves the modernization of more than 450 rooms and suites, as well as a comprehensive refurbishment of common areas and facilities with sustainability criteria in mind. The hotel has introduced design elements with white as the main color, combining textures of tropical and rustic woods, and plenty of natural fiber details that evoke handcrafts and local art. All of this is contrasted with contemporary design furniture and lighting and a constant presence of natural vegetation, providing a distinctly Amazon-inspired aspect.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Palace has expanded its gastronomic offer with theme restaurants, different cuisines, and styles to satisfy its guests. Among the novelties is “Diábolo,” an Italian restaurant inspired by the circus, theater, and carnival of Venice, and the “Coal-Smoked room,” where meat and charcoal take center stage. Around the pool, “Kiosk” offers snacks, drinks, and cocktails, while “Drago Terrace” is the ideal spot to enjoy an afternoon coffee or an evening cocktail.

A new area called “The Pier,” under the Food Festival concept, presents a wide variety of stations inspired by coastal docks, aiming for a relaxed and family-friendly essence, with a gastronomic offer based on the best product adapted to current trends.

The hotel has also designed new lightweight uniforms for improved staff comfort and has implemented electric adjustable bed systems, significantly enhancing the quality of work for housekeeping staff.

For the younger visitors, the extensive Kids’ Club has been modernized with a new cinema room, a musical instrument room, and a new climbing wall. Outdoors, a splash park and a beach volleyball court have also been set up.

All these new facility and restaurant offerings are complemented by those of the Mare Nostrum Resort, which include two other hotels: Sir Anthony, a luxury boutique hotel, and Cleopatra Palace, a hotel focusing on relaxation and comfort for couples. The complex also boasts restaurants like Palapa Beach Club and Hard Rock Café Tenerife.

The renovation of the Mediterranean Palace aims to provide visitors with an unforgettable high-quality holiday experience. Alejandro Crespo, General Manager of Mare Nostrum Resort, expressed his satisfaction with the hotel’s renovation, stating: “We are committed to offering our guests the best possible experience, and we are confident that these improvements will ensure that the Mediterranean Palace remains a benchmark in one of Tenerife’s most popular tourist destinations.”

With its stunning seaside location and wide range of services and amenities, the Mediterranean Palace is more than just a vacation spot; it’s a home away from home for many families and generations on the beautiful island of Tenerife.
