The Prado Museum has joined the Shelter in Culture campaign, an initiative promoted by the Area of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Madrid City Council. This proposal aims to offer an alternative for residents and tourists to protect themselves from the high temperatures by visiting cultural spaces during the hottest hours. In this way, attendees will be able to enjoy various activities and special discounts.
Among the activities planned by the Prado Museum, nine flamenco performances stand out, each lasting approximately 15 minutes, which will take place on Wednesdays in July and August at 3:00 pm in the Hall of the Muses. This coming Wednesday, Miguel Fernández, artistically known as “El Yiyo”, will be presented. This young flamenco dancer, with over fifteen years of professional experience, has led around twenty spectacular productions.
The flamenco initiative, designed by SO-LA-NA Entertainment, will feature renowned artists along with emerging young talents. In addition to “El Yiyo”, figures such as the dancers Eduardo Guerrero and Amador Rojas; the flamenco dancers Raquel Valencia, Nazaret Reyes, Yolanda Osuna, and Patricia Donn; and the guitarist Ricardo Fernández del Moral will be presented in the cycle.
The aim of this campaign is not only to provide a safe and cool space during the intense summer heat, but also to enrich the cultural offering of Madrid. The proposal seeks to encourage visits to the city’s artistic heritage while attendees enjoy high-quality performances.
