“Just like when we see the Red Cross, everyone knows what it is, or a green cross we know is a pharmacy, or the sign of a hospital, integrating in that visible way is very important,” Capellán asserted, committing to progress from a regulatory perspective in the widespread implementation of the symbol.

This III International Conference falls within the events held annually around the Day of Physiotherapy, with special significance on this occasion, as they coincided with the twentieth anniversary of the Riojan college. Under the direction of Ana San Juan, the physiotherapists’ collective in the autonomous community has reached 437 licensed professionals in these first 20 years as a professional college.

In addition to the firm and determined commitment of the Official College of Physiotherapists of La Rioja to “The symbol of physiotherapy,” Riojan professionals have taken advantage of the commemorative events to demand the prescription of physical exercise by physiotherapists in the population with pathologies and the recognition of physiotherapy specialties within the public health sphere.
