UATAE Andalucía promotes self-employment in Colombia.

The Union of Associations of Self-Employed Workers and Entrepreneurs of Andalusia (UATAE) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Pro Associates Foundation of Colombia, taking a significant step in promoting entrepreneurship internationally. The Pro Associates Foundation is dedicated to formulating, managing and executing environmental, cultural, social, and educational projects that have a positive impact on individual and collective consciousness.

For over a decade, this Colombian foundation has promoted responsible campaigns and actions towards the environment and society, using pedagogies that encourage people to adopt healthy lifestyles. Among its objectives is the articulation between producers and buyers through a conscious consumption network, which aims to strengthen green enterprises and businesses, reduce production and marketing costs, and increase market participation.

The transnational cooperation agreement between UATAE and the Pro Associates Foundation aims to promote joint initiatives in the field of entrepreneurship and the interaction of self-employed and independent workers from both territories. Planned activities include organizing workshops and meetings, launching awareness campaigns, joint visibility in media, supporting institutional initiatives, and incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their actions.

The collaboration arose after the visit of Pepe Galván, general secretary of UATAE Andalusia, to Colombia, where he participated in various meetings and training sessions. This proposal was consolidated and now materializes in the participation of UATAE Andalusia in the third edition of the Conscious Fusioning Worlds Festival, which will be held on Sunday, August 11th at the Biohotel Orgánic in Bogotá, both in person and in digital format.

The festival will include a fair of organic and natural products, with stands from various microenterprises, networking, special guests, and activities to promote and position brands and exports. UATAE Andalusia will contribute with talks on the advantages for independent workers in Colombia, the promotion of female self-employment, and the presentation of a website platform that will facilitate interaction between self-employed workers and microenterprises from Andalusia and Colombia.

Furthermore, the alliance will seek to impact other Colombian institutions such as the Consulate of Colombia and the Government of the Cundinamarca department. The results of this collaboration will be disseminated through social networks and the Migrant Channel, recently launched by UATAE Andalusia.

Pepe Galván highlighted the importance of this collaboration, stating that it is “to continue deepening the potential of migrant people for the growth of self-employment, sharing experiences and proposing actions to promote employment and wealth in Colombia and Andalusia.”
