Allianz Seguros has announced a strategic decision that promises to strengthen its leadership in the Spanish insurance sector by appointing Victoria Medina as Chief Technology & Data Officer (CTDO). Medina, originally from Madrid and 52 years old, will assume her new responsibilities starting in January of next year, becoming an essential pillar for the company’s digital transformation.
The announcement of this appointment has been well received by Allianz Seguros CEO Veit Stutz, who has highlighted Medina’s extensive background in technology and consulting, as well as her international experience, factors that will undoubtedly be key in accelerating the digitalization process within the company. According to Stutz, “her profile aligns perfectly with our current structure, and will help us drive our position as a data-driven company.”
Victoria Medina has had a distinguished professional career, having worked in major companies such as Accenture and IBM. Most recently, she led the global responsible artificial intelligence (AI) initiative at Accenture, playing a crucial role in the digital transformation of several financial companies in Europe. At IBM, she led cloud consulting services and data and AI areas, participating in the creation of the Watson unit.
Medina is an industrial engineer with a specialization in Electronics and Automation from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. She also holds an Executive MBA from the IADE Business School and has completed a specialized program in responsible AI at Stanford. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her excellence and commitment to talent development in global environments.
Alongside Medina, the Allianz Seguros executive committee from January 2025 will be composed of Veit Stutz as CEO, Matthias Rubin-Schwarz as CFO, and other prominent executives such as Ricard Ribas, Miguel Pérez Jaime, Montse Álvarez, José María Maté, Agustín de la Cuerda, and Celso Fernández, who will manage various critical areas for the company.
