Women Leaders: Inspiring Learnings from 8 CEOs Driving Change

On November 7, the historic Ateneo de Madrid was the setting for the first “More Women CEOs” meeting, a pioneering event that sought to redefine leadership from a female perspective. Organized by Canal CEO with the support of Mediaplus Equmedia, this meeting aimed not only to promote debate on female leadership, but also to strengthen its development as a driver of transformation in companies and society in general.

The event featured influential women in the economic field, who shared their visions and experiences on leadership from a different perspective. In homage to Emilia Pardo Bazán, an emblematic figure of the 19th century known for her perseverance and determination, attendees analyzed the distinctive characteristics of female leadership, such as inclusion, empathy, and transformative capacity.

Ana López-Casero Beltrán, president of the Asociación Retail Textil España, summed up the concept of female leadership as a “way of being in the world,” emphasizing that, although not exclusive to women, it is particularly innate in them. María Carceller, CEO of Grupo Rodilla, highlighted the importance of adapting women’s professional trajectories to their changing realities, noting that success lies in the combination of personal and professional satisfaction, without the need for extreme sacrifices.

Other prominent figures such as Marta Prieto Asirón, Virginia Carcedo, Marta Muñiz, Laura Valdeolivas, Ana Palencia, and Celia Caño offered their perspectives on the impact of female leadership in their respective sectors. Topics addressed included intersectionality, the creation of inclusive environments, and authenticity in leadership practice.

This first meeting is just the beginning of a series of events that Canal CEO plans to continue, with the purpose of promoting equity and inspiration through the voices of women who, thanks to their ideas and actions, have generated significant changes throughout history. Since its founding in 2011, Canal CEO has been a benchmark in humanistic leadership, supporting companies in aligning with the demands of contemporary leadership.
