Call for Grants for the Creation of Mentor Classrooms in Local Entities 2024

The Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, and Sports has launched a new call for grants aimed at creating Mentor Classrooms in local entities, as part of its efforts to promote open and flexible education for adults. This program is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with the goal of promoting continuous learning through an online modality.

The project has a budget of 2.72 million euros and aims to finance the implementation of Mentor Classrooms in municipalities, councils, associations, and other public entities linked to these organizations. The objective is to expand the offer of non-formal training throughout the national territory, with a special focus on rural areas. This strategy not only aims to improve access to education but also to combat depopulation.

Mentor Classrooms offer more than 240 courses in 14 different training areas, providing professional skills and competencies that facilitate the employment of adults. They are flexible learning spaces that offer online training resources, personalized tutoring, and, after a face-to-face evaluation, certificates issued by the Ministry.

This effort aims to enhance the professional qualifications of participants, providing cumulative training that can be referenced to the National Catalog of Competency Standards. In this way, the goal is to improve the social inclusion of vulnerable individuals, including immigrants or adults with low qualifications.

The grants will cover various operational expenses of the classrooms, including the salary of the classroom manager, materials, dissemination, equipment maintenance, and physical space conditioning. Interested entities must submit their applications electronically before November 9, 2024, through the Ministry’s electronic headquarters.

This initiative reaffirms the government’s commitment to vocational training and employment, aligning with integration and equality policies. In doing so, it seeks to strengthen civil society and promote technology and science.
