Fede Valverde, chosen as the Healthiest Player of 2024 by Real Madrid Fans

Uruguayan midfielder of Real Madrid, Fede Valverde, has been recognized as the “Healthiest Player” of 2024, after a vote held through the club’s official social media platforms. This award, sponsored by Sanitas, aims to acknowledge the player who best promotes healthy lifestyle habits and sports practice among fans.

The award ceremony took place before the League match between Real Madrid and UD Las Palmas, played last Sunday. Iñaki Peralta, CEO of Sanitas and Bupa Europe & Latin America, presented Valverde with the commemorative plaque. During the event, Peralta highlighted the positive influence that professional athletes have on society, stating that sports are essential to improve quality of life and promoting these athletes as role models who inspire their followers towards better physical and mental health.

Valverde was chosen by voters not only for his outstanding physical performance and careful nutrition, but also for his role as a motivator in promoting sports activity.

In addition to honoring Valverde, the day included an exhibition of inclusive soccer during halftime, where six children from Real Madrid’s inclusive schools and six children of Sanitas employees gathered. This initiative is part of the agreement between the Sanitas and Real Madrid foundations for over 15 years, aiming to integrate around 150 children and youth with and without disabilities in sports activities that promote values such as teamwork, respect, and autonomy.

The “Healthiest Player” award not only celebrates Valverde, but it also emphasizes the importance of sports as a tool to promote healthy lifestyle habits in society. With his commitment both on and off the field, Fede Valverde stands as a role model, showing that effort, discipline, and passion can have a positive impact on others’ lives.
