Mohawk highlights its sustainability advancements in the 2023 impact report.

Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK) has published its 15th annual impact report, entitled “Surfaces with Purpose.” This document details the company’s progress towards its sustainability goals during the year 2023 and highlights various global activities that demonstrate Mohawk’s commitment to both people and the environment.

Our products are manufactured using sustainable practices that help reduce our carbon footprint, conserve resources, and incorporate significant recycled content, including nearly 60,000 million plastic bottles over the past decade.”

Highlights from Mohawk’s 2023 impact report include:

In 2023, Mohawk exceeded its greenhouse gas emissions intensity target, achieving a 36% reduction compared to 2010 baseline data. USA Today recognized Mohawk as one of America’s Climate Leaders in both 2023 and 2024.
Last year, Mohawk recovered 44.9 million pounds of end-of-life products through recycling and reuse.
Approximately 58% of Mohawk’s manufacturing waste was recovered, recycled, or reused in 2023.
Mohawk’s global water consumption intensity has improved by 42% compared to 2010 baseline data, thanks to the millions of gallons of wastewater that were reused or treated in manufacturing processes.
Mohawk’s U.S. workforce is comprised of 43% Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). This year, Newsweek included Mohawk in the Best Places to Work in the U.S. for Diversity and Women category.
More than 10% of Mohawk’s global workforce has been with the company for 25 years or more.
Due to safety program improvements, Mohawk’s global recordable incident rate in 2023 has decreased by around 10% compared to five years ago.
In 2023, Mohawk expanded its “Culture of Care” through sustainability partnerships, including Plastic Bank®, One Tree Planted®, and Rhinory®.
