Mohawk Industries appoints Mauro Vandini as president of the global ceramic segment.

The appointment will take effect starting next Sunday, September 15, 2024. Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK) announced today the promotion of Mauro Vandini to the position of President of the Global Ceramic Segment of the company, which he will officially start on September 15, 2024. Vandini will also continue to serve, with the help of his talented team, in his current position as President of Mohawk’s European ceramic business.

“I have been working with Mauro since we acquired Marazzi in 2013 and I have great respect for his extensive knowledge in ceramic product manufacturing, sales and marketing, as well as his ability to implement improvements in all areas of the business,” said Jeff Lorberbaum, President and CEO of Mohawk. “Since acquiring Dal-Tile in 2002, Mohawk has become the largest producer of ceramic tiles in the world and currently has factories in a total of eight countries across three continents, selling its products in approximately 140 countries. Mauro has been able to develop close partnerships with the leaders of our regional ceramic businesses, with whom he will collaborate to optimize performance and deliver exceptional design, quality and value to our customers.”

Vandini began his professional career in 1983 within the Marazzi Group, where he later held positions as technical director and vice president of international operations before becoming CEO of the group. Following Mohawk’s acquisition of Marazzi, Vandini became responsible for the company’s European ceramic business. Under Vandini’s leadership, the company not only modernized its European ceramic operations, but also acquired additional businesses in Italy, Bulgaria and Poland, successfully integrating into the rapidly growing porcelain tile market.

“It is an honor for me to lead Mohawk’s Global Ceramic Segment,” Vandini said. “I will continue working with the talented leaders in the regions where we operate, benefiting both our customers and partners. As the world’s largest ceramic tile manufacturer, we will continue to focus on delivering industry-revolutionizing design, ensuring operational excellence, and exceeding our customers’ expectations globally.”

Chris Wellborn will accompany Vandini during his transition to Director of the Global Ceramic Segment, while continuing his roles as President and COO of Mohawk and collaborating with Lorberbaum to ensure Mohawk’s strategies contribute to maximizing the company’s long-term results as the flooring industry continues to recover.
