Adif and BIM propel the transformation of the railway towards a digital future.

The state-owned enterprise, partnering with Building Information Modeling technology, has announced an unprecedented job offer for 1.342 professionals.

Adif, aiming to achieve more sustainable, multimodal, and intelligent mobility, is set to revamp the railway sector, now pushing for a generational shift with a historic employment call.

This Public Employment Offer (OEP) for the year 2024 has been launched by Adif and Adif High Speed (Adif AV) intending to bring onboard 1,342 new professionals: 1,324 for Adif and 18 for Adif AV. The goal is to fill positions across 47 profiles, including legal, finance, marketing, IT, architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, safety, systems, and operations, as well as roles like electrical fitters, railway assistants, telecommunication officials, draftsmen, administrative staff, or machinists. 78% of the job offers are for operational staff, 8% for technicians, and 14% for technical staff.

With this push for employment, Adif and Adif AV aim to facilitate generational renewal for 50% of their workforce by 2025. This call is part of the transformation process led by Adif towards more efficient, functional mobility in line with modern times. A challenge that aligns with Adif’s Strategic Plan 2030, where the company, a reference in Spain’s railway sector, joins forces with the most innovative technologies, including BIM (Building Information Modeling).

The methodology that has revolutionized the AECO sector (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) is being solidly implemented in Adif’s actions with clear objectives: to improve investment efficiency and spending, sustainability, safety, quality, and collaboration in managing railway infrastructures throughout the assets’ lifecycle, which BIM enables through the use of digital information models and by putting people and processes at the core of transformation.

This tool and collaborative work philosophy, in which more and more professionals choose to specialize through comprehensive BIM master online programs, like the International BIM Manager Master (+VR) offered by the specialized consultancy Espacio BIM, ensures efficacy, efficiency, and optimal quality results in any construction project, centralizing all relevant information (geometric or 3D, time or 4D, cost or 5D, environmental or 6D, and maintenance or 7D) in a single digital model developed by all its agents.

The new professionals joining Adif and Adif AV through this latest employment call, the largest in the history of these significant public promoters, will have access to a wide variety of training options preparing them to ensure mobility leadership and achieve the objectives of the Strategic Plan 2030. A project grounded on four fundamental pillars: safety, service, sustainability, and results orientation, which leverages communication, innovation, and digital transformation to face the future challenges in the railway sector.
